ICI-Gitagum Cadets

We hosted the Inaugural Northern Mindanao Invitational Basketball Tournament recently. We had a Junior 16U and a Senior High School category.  14 teams representing 8 different schools and barangays participated.  Spectators got to enjoy numerous games throughout the day.  Each team played 3 games, with the top winning teams advancing to the Championship games.  Congratulations to Laguindingan National High School for placing first in both the Junior and Senior categories.

We couldn't have accomplished such an event without the help and support of our student volunteers.  Their help as volunteers was instrumental in this tournaments success.

We'd also like to say a special thank you to our sponsors for their generous support for our inaugural tournament.  We couldn't have accomplished this without your support.

On Sunday, February 15, 2026, ICI-Gitagum decided to hold a basketball tournament for area Junior and Senior High Schools. The organization invited many teams to participate, and several teams had already registered before the tournament day. We interviewed many players from different schools, and they were all excited to play and to showcase their basketball skills. These are the teams that participated from Senior categories; GAA Babies, ICI Cadets, LANHS SHS, PPA Old Dreamers, Imperial Crusaders, Matangad Bulldogs. And these are the teams from Junior categories; CSY Selection, LANHS JHS, Matangad JHS, Young Dreamers, MIZPAH, Mauswagon, and ICI Cadets. The champions in both the Senior and Junior categories were Laguindingan National High School. Before the games started, I also interviewed some players, and they mentioned that they were all excited to play. They were looking forward to playing against other schools and enjoying the games. After the games, I interviewed them again about how they felt during the game. Some of them said they were tired which is understandable, and then I asked them about their opponents, most of them said that the opposing teams were really good, and that inspired them to practice more for the next time to improve. Many of them hoped to be the champions next time or someday. In the end, they all said that they did indeed enjoy the game.
